Black Youth Success Privacy Statement

Black Youth Success (BYS) respects the privacy of the youth, families, clients, donors, members, staff, volunteers, and partners we work with. We are committed to protecting personal information and maintaining confidentiality in the collection, use, storage, and sharing of information.

Who Can Access Your Information

Personal information is confidential and accessible only to individuals who require it to carry out their responsibilities with BYS or to provide an authorized service or program.

This may include appropriate BYS staff, volunteers, board members, or authorized partners involved in program delivery, administration, evaluation, or support. Individuals with access to confidential information are expected to protect it and may not disclose it without appropriate authorization.

BYS does not permit staff, volunteers, or board members to disclose information that could identify a client or participant unless they are authorized to do so or disclosure is otherwise required or permitted by law.

Where BYS works with external organizations, post-secondary institutions, schools, agencies, or other partners to support program delivery, information will only be shared when appropriate and authorized for the purpose of providing or coordinating services.

General, statistical, or program information that has been de-identified so that an individual cannot reasonably be identified may be used for reporting, evaluation, communications, or organizational purposes.

How We Protect Your Information

BYS takes reasonable steps to protect personal and confidential information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, or sharing. Staff, volunteers, and board members are expected to maintain confidentiality during and after their involvement with BYS.
