We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and which Black Youth Success works on, is part of the Treaty Lands and the traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, the Ojibway / Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat peoples; and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We acknowledge all Treaty peoples – including those who came here as settlers, as migrants either in this generation or in generations past, and those of us who, as forcibly dis-planted Africans, came here involuntarily because of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery.

We also acknowledge that a shared understanding of how our collective pasts have brought us to where we are today will help us walk together into a better future.
